1. SATURDAY 29 OCTOBER 2011 Whilst the prospect of a 12 month holiday was always enticing, for us this trip was about jumping off the treadmill for a while. No more distraction from jobs, mortgage, TV and shopping - just a chance to step back and get some perspective. We don’t profess to have found all of the answers just yet, but yesterday made a pretty big step in a new direction. We quite surprisingly sold our house after just a couple of weeks tentatively listed with a local agent - there goes the mortgage bit for a while! It means a little unplanned stay at home in a couple of weeks to settle the house and put our stuff in storage.  Given our addiction to real estate, there is a good chance the mortgage free bit won’t last too long. Just have to work out where….
